Use this form to submit an application to Asset College for QLD Government funding to subsidise the cost of an approved Traineeship Certificate II, III or Diploma level qualifications.

For a General Training (Non-Traineeship) application, please use the Career Start Funding Application - General Training for Certificate II and III or Career Boost Funding Application - General Training for Diploma.

Career Start and Career Boost are two of the Queensland Government’s core funded vocational education and training (VET) programs, managed by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET).

For a Traineeship you must be employed as a Trainee in an area that is relevant to the qualification that you are wishing to enrol in.

This declaration is required to be submitted with all applications for enrolment using the Career Start funding. If you are unsure of anything, please contact your nearest Asset College office on 1300 731 602 or email study@asset.edu.au.

Applicants must meet ALL of these criteria and supply supporting evidence in order to receive approval for the funding.

I understand that I am undertaking a course that is subsidised by the QLD Government Career Start program.
I understand the Career Start funding options outlined above and that under Career Start I am only eligible to undertake one funded/subsidised general pathway qualification, and I can also do a funded apprenticeship/traineeship provided I do not complete the apprenticeship/traineeship before the general training pathway.
I have read and discussed the course information with staff at Asset College to ensure that this course is suitable for me and meets my requirements. I am aware of the course entry requirements, delivery mode, training timelines, assessment methods, delivery locations, and all requirements for successful completion of the qualification, including licensing and other relevant information.
I understand that I must complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment prior to commencement of this course.
I have access to Asset College's Student Handbook and am aware of the support services available if required.
I understand the breakdown of total costs, including co-contribution fee, and how and when fees will be charged and collected for this course.
I currently live in Queensland.
I am over 15 years of age and no longer at school.
I am an Australian or New Zealand Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident (including humanitarian entrants), or a temporary resident with the necessary visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency.
I do not hold a Certificate III or higher qualification completed within the last 10 years (excluding qualifications undertaken while at secondary school or a foundation skills qualification).
I am not currently enrolled in another qualification, even if it is on hold or deferred, whether funded by DTET or not (foundation skills qualifications do not count)
I understand that I must complete a post-course survey within 3 months of completing or withdrawing from this course.
I have advised Asset College of all units that I have previously completed that can be used for credit transfers for this course.
I understand that if my current trainee employment ceases that I will need to contact my traineeship support network to look at options for continuing my traineeship studies through a new registered trainee contract with another employer to continue my traineeship studies.
I understand that I can only undertake 1 (one) funded training program at a time.

Terms and Conditions
- Applications are subject to approval by Asset College’s Head Office. Submitting a completed application does not guarantee approval of funding. Training cannot commence until you have received written confirmation of your application being approved.
- Availability of funding is subject to change without notice at the discretion of the Queensland Government.
- For apprenticeships and traineeships, an individual must be employed as an apprentice or trainee.
- Applicants are only eligible to receive funding for a maximum of two government funded apprenticeships/traineeships across the School-based Apprenticeships and Traineeships (SATs), Career Start and Career Boost Programs in a ten-year period.
- Applicants can receive funding for only one apprenticeship or traineeship at a time. If two training contracts are registered at the same time, the contract with the earliest start date will qualify for funding, provided all other eligibility requirements are met.
- Participants must provide additional information / feedback to Asset College within three months of completing their qualification.
- Student co-contribution fees must be paid to Asset College prior to commencement of the related unit of competency. Co-contribution fees will be handled in line with the refund policy.
- Student co-contribution fees are calculated based on the units of competency that you are undertaking training and assessment for with Asset College as outlined on the fee schedule, you must notify Asset College if you already hold any units of competency that are included in the course you are looking to study so credit transfer arrangements can be made.
- Student co-contribution fees may vary depending on the course location and delivery method.
- Additional terms and conditions will be outlined on the application forms and are subject to change.
- Participants are required to submit and pay for their own industry licence applications (where applicable). These costs are not included in the student contribution fee or funding subsidy.
- Students can only access Career Start or Career Boost funding through approved training providers (Skills Assure Suppliers).
- The amount of Subsidy provided will depend on the demand for skilled workers in the area of study.

Privacy Statement

The Queensland Government allocates funding for participants to undertake qualifications under the Career Start and Career Boost Programs. Asset College has been approved to deliver training and assessment for qualifications which eligible participants will be entitled to undertake under these programs. The personal information you provide will be collected and used by Asset College for the purposes of:
- assessing your eligibility for the Career Start or Career Boost Programs;
- if you are eligible to participate in the funding program, all aspects of enrolment, administration and delivery of the qualification; and
- advising your Workforce Australia Provider and/or Employer (if applicable) of your participation and attendance in training.
Asset College may also collect and disclose your personal information to the Queensland Government Department of Trade, Employment and Training (DTET) and other Australian Government agencies for the purposes of:
- confirming your eligibility for participation in this program;
- informing DTET that you have enrolled in an approved qualification;
- informing DTET of your completion, non-completion or withdrawal from an approved qualification;
- reporting to DTET’s Ministers and other Members of Parliament on the Career Start or Career Boost Programs;
- monitoring the service given by Asset College to you and your satisfaction with the Career Start or Career Boost Programs; and
- DTET generally administering the Career Start or Career Boost Programs.
Asset College and DTET may also disclose your personal information to another person, body or agency without your consent where authorised or required by law.
It is an offence to make a false or misleading declaration. If necessary, Asset College may request a Statutory Declaration relating to specific clauses in this agreement where insufficient evidence has been supplied. By signing this declaration, you agree to the terms and conditions, and privacy statement.
